The Facility VAMC pharmacies process thousands of prescriptions daily. Many prescriptions are filled by the Central Mailout Pharmacy (CMOP). Prescriptions may be refilled by phone or the Internet on My HealtheVet.
Prescriptions may also be filled online using VA's My HealtheVet program. You will need a user ID and password to log in. If you do not have one, you can easily get one by registering online at www.myhealth.va.gov. You can speak to one of our MyHealtheVet In-Person Authenticators for training and assistance with My HealtheVet. Renew many VA prescriptions online. Send a Secure Message to your VA doctor using My HealtheVet. First, upgrade your account with in–person authentication at a local VA health care facility.
Order refills through one of the following options:
- My HealtheVet at www.myhealth.va.gov
- VA Auto phone at (800) 379-8387 (the automated telephone refill system)
- Regular mail (mail your refill form to the pharmacy at least two weeks before your supply runs out to allow for processing time.)
Refills at the Pharmacy
All Veterans are encouraged to refill their prescriptions by phone or Internet. Outpatient Pharmacy Services are available Monday through Friday at all locations. See the contact page for specific hours. The Pharmacy is closed for major holidays. Our Pharmacy service cannot issue medications or supplies prescribed by private doctors. We fill only those written by VA or Fee Basis doctors.
You may be charged a copay for your prescriptions. That depends on your current income and your level of service connection. If you have any questions, please call customer service at 800-379-8387.
New prescriptions are filled at the Outpatient pharmacy for immediate pick-up. For non service-connected Veterans, there is a required $8.00 co-payment for each 30-day supply of medication. For those Veterans who are less than 50% service-connected, there is no co-pay for prescriptions that are for a service-connected condition. For Veterans who have a service-connected condition of 50% or more, there is no copay. Please note that only NEW prescriptions are filled at the Outpatient pharmacy for immediate pick-up. Refills are mailed to patients.
We do not automatically refill prescriptions.
A medication prescription is void after one year no matter the number of refills remaining. Controlled substances refills are void after six months from date of issue. Certain controlled substances (Schedule II - for example: Percocet, Morphine), require a new written prescription for each refill. New prescriptions may be picked up at the pharmacy or mailed to your home.
