Cleveland VAMC 'Going Green' With EFT

Green Cash Close Up
By Ciera Cross
Wednesday, December 21, 2011

The Louis Stokes Cleveland VAMC will be “going green” through our Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). EFT will provide our Veterans with a travel mileage reimbursement through direct deposit. The “go green” initiative will apply changes to the travel mileage reimbursement which will be effective January 3, 2012.

Changes to the beneficiary travel mileage reimbursement will be going from the cash reimbursement process to direct deposit through EFT. A few perks from the changes will be no waiting in lines, physical safety, security of funds and it will save resources that are better spent on Veterans. It will also reduce fraud, eliminate lost checks, ensure address is current and reduce duplicate payments.

The form to apply for Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) is available at the Cleveland VAMC Medical Center and all Outpatient Clinics. For questions about payments, you can contact a PCAS officer at (216)791-3800 ext 5743.

More information on Beneficiary Travel Benefits can be found here.
