Copayments
There is no monthly premium required to use VA care. You may, however, have to agree to pay copays. If you have insurance, it may cover the cost of copays
The US Department of Veterans Affairs has established guidelines for veterans and their copayments¹.
Copayments, if any, may differ depending on the type of services you receive, where you receive those services and any other insurance you may have.
Any copayments due should be paid upon checking out of the medical center.
Copayments may be made at the Agent Cashier window, located in room 1B-B135, 1st floor, just to the right of the Atrium.
The Agent Cashier accepts cash, credit card, check or money order.
You may also pay over the phone with a credit card by calling (216) 791-3800 ext. 4199.
Veterans who do not make their copayments upon checking out will receive a bill at their address of record within 30 days after their stay or appointment.
You may also pay your bill via credit card, check or money order. Mail your payment with coupon (from your billing statement) to:
DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS
P.O. BOX 530269
ATLANTA GA 30353-0269
If you have any questions about your balance, please contact our VA Health Revenue Service (216) 791-3800, then press 3, then 1.
Other Health Insurance
The Department of Veterans Affairs now bills private health insurance companies for care received by their enrollees. You should bring your insurance card with you for your appointment and present it during the check-in process.
