Affiliations

We have 120 affiliation agreements with institutions of higher learning provide for training in a wide range of health care professions. We have active affiliations with the School of Medicine* and School of Dentistry at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) and also 13 affiliations with different nursing programs. Over 500 physician and dental residents and interns are trained at our medical center each year.

Our center also hosts the Mt. Sinai Clinical Skills and Simulation Center, a collaboration with Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) and VA for the training of physician residents.

Medical Education

The Cleveland VA Medical Center takes an active role in the medical education at Case Medical School. Several VAMC physicians serve as leadership chairs and voting members with other Case faculty on the Committee on Medical Education. The CME evaluates, reviews, and makes recommendations concerning overall goals and policies of the medical education program. The CME was created to influence the school's curriculum and improve existing policy and create innovative programs.
